Almaty Technological University announces an annual competition of research works of students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the 2017-2018 academic year.
In accordance with the Letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 14-5 / 9 dated January 8, 2018 and Recommendations on the organization and conduct of the annual competition of research works of students of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first stage (Intra-university) competition of the 2017-2018 school year will be held from January 15 to February 16 2018 (Order of the Rector of the ATU number 3-AH3 from 12.01.2018).

December 14, 2017 in Almaty Technological University was a competition of scientific student works for a scholarship from Bitzer CIS LLC, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of ATU.
The competition was attended by students of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies, specializing in Technological Machines and Equipment.
The composition of the competitive commission, approved by the university rector and coordinated with the general director of Bitzer CIS LLC, included leading scientists and qualified specialists with rich practical experience in production.
At the first stage of the contest, the commission’s members selected 12 of the most interesting and relevant projects in the industry, in the second stage, six best projects were singled out, which were admitted to the final of the competition. After hearing the projects in the final of the competition, 3 works were marked, which were distributed among the prize places:
1st place - Koretsky Dmitry (TMO 16-2) – holder of a nominal scholarship for 1 calendar year from OOO Bitzer CIS.
Project topic: “Improving the energy efficiency of radiation cooling systems”;
2nd place - Bekzhanova Inzhu (TMO 16-2) – The holder of a one-time monetary award from the Ulyanovsk “Kazakhstan Association of Refrigeration Industry”.
Project topic: “Energy efficiency of the air conditioning system using solar energy in the climatic conditions of Kazakhstan”;
3rd place - Ashihin Artem (TMO 16-2) – holder of a one-time monetary award from the Representative Office of the International Academy of Cold in Kazakhstan.
Project theme: “Energy efficiency of Bitzer compressors in refrigeration systems with environmentally friendly refrigerants”.
12 students who passed into the second stage were given certificates of participants. This competition served as an impetus to the development of creative potential and research skills in science and technology and enabled students to present modern views and ideas in the field of refrigeration machines and plants. The administration, the faculty and students of the Almaty Technological University express their deep gratitude to Bitzer CIS for the development of education in the field of the refrigerating industry in Kazakhstan, and also thanks the Association of the Refrigeration Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the MAH Representative Office in Kazakhstan for the contribution made to the contest.

From 22 to 24 November 2017, the XV International Exhibition “Education and Science 2017” was held in the exhibition center “Korme” in Astana. The organizer of the exhibition is Atakent Expo LLP.
The main goals and objectives of the exhibition:
- demonstration of achievements in the field of content of all levels of education;
- progress of professions and specialties necessary for the country’s economic and social growth;
- extension of interstate cooperation in the sphere of education and science.
Achievements of the Almaty Technological University were represented by the University staff: Head of the Problem Research Laboratory for the Creation of New Generation Food Products, PhD Pronina Yulia Gennadievna; senior lecturer of the chair “Technology of textile production” PhD Tasymbekova Alima Nurzhanovna; Leading specialist of the information-analytical department under the Office of career guidance work and marketing Suleimenov Daniyar Myrzabekovich. The exhibition was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, schoolchildren (11 classes) of Astana and Karaganda, parents of future graduates, as well as representatives of other countries (Belarus, China, Poland, etc.). In general, for three days, the exhibition was attended by about 1200 people. More interest has been shown to technical specialties, namely to programming, IT-technologies. Also interest was shown to the following specialties: “Economics”, “Management”, “Restaurant business and hotel business”, “Design”, “Technology and design of light industry products”, “Public catering technology”. Employees of the university were given an interview to the republican educational socio-political newspaper “Bilimdi El – an educational country” about the activities of the Almaty Technological University. For active participation in the exhibition, Almaty Technological University was awarded with diplomas by Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aymagambetov AK. and Director of the Atakent-Expo IEC Abdullaev Zh.K.
