Immersion in the process: ATU students visited the Samal drinking water production facility

Students of the Faculty of Food Technologies at Almaty Technological University (ATU), enrolled in the Food Technology educational program, visited Keremet Su SKE, the manufacturer of the well-known Samal bottled drinking water brand.

The source of Samal drinking water is Well No. 2940, an artesian groundwater source located more than 300 meters underground in the Turksib District of Almaty. Before bottling, the water undergoes a comprehensive five-stage treatment process, including mechanical purification, softening, filtration, molecular purification, and ultraviolet sterilization as it travels from the well to the bottling line. Samal acquires its distinctive fresh taste through ozonation.

During the visit, the students observed the production process firsthand and learned about the company's laboratory water analysis procedures and quality control system.
