ATU Hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Innovative Development of the Food, Light Industry, and Hospitality Sector"

Almaty Technological University (ATU) hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Innovative Development of the Food, Light Industry, and Hospitality Sector," bringing together leading researchers, academics, and industry experts to discuss current trends and innovative solutions across these fields.

The conference featured presentations by distinguished speakers, including:

  • Amangeldy Kuanbayevich Bisenbayev, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Director of the Research Institute of Biology and Biotechnology Problems, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan).
    Presentation: "Antibiotic Resistance in Aquaculture: The Potential of Bacteriophage Endolysins for Overcoming Antimicrobial Resistance."

  • Giovanni Ferrari, Professor, ProdAl Scarl Consortium – University of Salerno (Italy).
    Presentation: "Sustainable Valorization of Agri-Food Waste through Innovative Extraction Technologies."

  • Anna Sabirdzyanovna Mustafina, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Department of Storage and Processing Technologies for Fruit, Vegetable, and Crop Products, Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy (Russia).
    Presentation: "Green Technologies for the Extraction of Bioactive Compounds from Plant-Based Raw Materials."

  • Zhanar Serikbolovna Nabiyeva, PhD, Director of the Food Safety Research Institute at Almaty Technological University.
    Presentation: "The Food Safety Research Institute: Opportunities and Future Prospects."

The conference also included parallel technical sessions covering the following topics:

  • Engineering and technologies for agricultural raw material processing, food production, quality assurance, and food safety;

  • Technologies and safety of light industry and textile products, as well as design and fashion;

  • Technological processes and equipment for the food and light industries, including information and communication technologies for process management;
