The history of the "Textile Production Technology" department began in 1987. Established within the General Engineering Faculty of the Zhambyl Technological Institute of Light and Food Industry, it has been a cornerstone for training highly qualified specialists for the industry since its inception.
The department was established by a group of distinguished scientists and experts whose contributions defined the trajectory of the textile and light industry in the region. Notable figures include:
The first head and visionary of the department was Sergey Vladimirovich Khromtsov, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Professor, who led the unit from its founding until 2000. Under his leadership, the fundamental educational framework was established, and key research directions were developed.
Today, the department continues to uphold the traditions of its founders while integrating modern technologies and strengthening the university's position in the global academic space.
To cultivate highly qualified, creative, and competitive leaders capable of adapting to the dynamic challenges of the global market. We build intellectual capital and professional academic staff in the fields of textile design, non-food product safety expertise, and innovative light industry technologies.
To create an innovative educational environment that ensures high-quality learning through the synergy of classical academic traditions, advanced research potential, and modern information technology solutions.
