Kazakh-Chinese Center for Scientific Research for Sustainable Development of ATU and HUUC

The Kazakhstan-China Research Center for Sustainable Development was officially established in October 2025 as a result of a strategic partnership between Almaty Technological University (ATU) and Henan University of Urban Construction (HUUC, Pingdingshan, China).

The establishment of the Center became an important practical step in implementing the global “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The cooperation between the universities, which began in 2024, has evolved into a strong scientific and educational platform. The Center’s activities aim to integrate science and industry to develop innovative solutions in the most promising sectors of the modern economy.

The Center focuses on applied and fundamental research at the intersection of advanced technologies and environmental responsibility. We combine Kazakhstan’s scientific potential with the expertise of leading Chinese technological clusters.

News

International internship of ATU master’s students in China
Within the partnership between ATU and HUUC, master’s student Kairat Amanzholov (Automation and Control program) is undertaking academic studies and a research internship in Pingdingshan.

 

 

The program includes free tuition, accommodation, and a scholarship.

 

Official opening of the Center at HUUC
The grand opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan-China Research Center for Sustainable Development was held at HUUC in China. The Center was established based on an agreement on academic exchange and scientific collaboration.

 

Launch of a dual-degree program in Automation and IT
During the official visit of the ATU delegation to HUUC, an agreement was signed to implement a 2+2 dual-degree program. Students will study two years at each university and receive two state-recognized diplomas. Enrollment will begin in 2026.
