Smart Food Industries: Student Hackathon for Digital Solutions in the Food Industry

On 12 November 2026, Almaty Technological University JSC will host the “Smart Food Industries” student hackathon, aimed at developing students’ digital competencies, innovative thinking, and practical skills.

Participants will develop innovative digital solutions for the food industry and effective food waste management across two tracks:

Digital Food Waste Management System for University Campuses — developing digital systems for managing food waste on university campuses.
Smart Automation & Robotics for Food Waste Management — developing intelligent solutions using automation and robotics technologies for food waste management.

The hackathon will provide a platform for bringing creative ideas to life, working in teams, and implementing modern IT solutions to support sustainable development.

The winners and runners-up in each track will receive cash prizes:

1st place — KZT 150,000;
2nd place — KZT 100,000;
3rd place — KZT 50,000.

We invite ATU students to take part in the hackathon and contribute to the development of digital and environmentally sustainable solutions for the food industry!
