Global Partnership: University of Reading Professor Emmanuel Essa's visit to ATU.
As part of the implementation of the Internationalization Strategy for International Academic Mobility programs, the Head of the School, SBE of the University of Reading, Professor Emmanuel Essah, paid an official visit to ATU.
The University of Reading is one of the top 200 best universities in the world (QS World University Rankings) and is a world leader in the field of sustainable development and green technologies.
During the visit, the following events took place:
• Institutional meetings: formal negotiations were held with the University Administration. Following the meetings, the parties outlined strategic steps to integrate the educational systems of the two universities.
• Master classes on Academic Writing: Professor Essa conducted a series of workshops "How to prepare an article for publication in rating journals" for PhD students, undergraduates and teaching staff at ATU, sharing the methodology for preparing publications for Scopus and Web of Science journals.
• Modernization of educational programs: at the Faculty of Intelligent and Engineering Systems, with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty, A.A. Ormanbekova, a round table was held on updating programs in the field of control automation, information systems and IT, as well as the introduction of green technologies.
• The issues of the food vector and the research potential of the ATU laboratories were discussed at a meeting with the Head of the Department of Food Technology, Professor A.M. Taeva.
• International Foresight session: Professor Essa acted as a key foreign expert at the republican foresight of Educational and Methodological Association of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council, chaired by the Rector of ATU, T.K. Kulazhanov, dedicated to the transformation of graduate competencies in the context of digitalization.
At the end of the visit, a Letter of Intent was signed between ATU and the University of Reading to create joint Double Degree programs. Two-degree programs will open up a unique opportunity for ATU students to study according to British standards and receive two full-fledged diplomas upon graduation.
Professor Emmanuel Essa's visit brought ATU's international partnership to a qualitatively new level, strengthening the university's position as a leading center for green digital technologies and technological modernization in Central Asia.
