ATU Young Scientist Dimash Tapalov: From a Student Project Presented to the President to Scientific Innovations Being Implemented in Industry

ATU student Dimash Tapalov demonstrated strong potential as a young researcher during his years of study. As an active participant in state scientific and technical projects, he was involved in research activities, the development, validation, and presentation of scientific results. One of the most significant milestones of his early scientific career was his participation in a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. As a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Food Technologies, he presented the results of research carried out with the participation of the research team of Almaty Technological University.

During the meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and students and young scientists from technical universities in Almaty, Dimash Tapalov presented the project "Innovative Technologies for Processing and Deep Processing of Long-Term Stored Sugar Beet", developed by a team of ATU scientists and young researchers. Representatives of nine leading technical universities of Kazakhstan, including Almaty Technological University, took part in the event.

The project was aimed at advancing Kazakhstan's sugar industry, improving technologies for processing long-term stored sugar beet, and addressing import substitution challenges. The development became a contribution of the ATU research team to the advancement of the industry and the country's food security. Subsequently, the project evolved further, and a number of its technological solutions were introduced and continue to be implemented in industrial practice.

Opening the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the scientific developments and technological start-ups presented by young researchers were of great importance for the country's future development.
