ATU Hosted the International Young Designers Competition "Zhas Orken 2025"

Almaty Technological University (ATU) hosted the vibrant international fashion event "Zhas Orken 2025", the International Young Designers Competition. For more than 20 years, the "Zhas Orken" competition has been organized by ATU, providing an outstanding platform for emerging designers and artists to showcase their creativity and gain professional recognition.

This year's competition featured 28 fashion collections and 32 art projects created by more than 60 participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.

"Zhas Orken" offers young designers not only the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience but also to connect with leading professionals from Kazakhstan and abroad in the fields of design, fashion, and business.

The competition jury included:

Aigul Kassymova – ATU alumna, fashion designer, and founder of the AIGUL KASSYMOVA atelier and fashion brand;
Irina Baizhanova – General Producer of EURASIAN FASHION WEEK and founder of the MODELS PRODUCTION modeling agency;
James Hyung Suk Kim – Brand Designer, Professor, and Dean of the Intermark International Institute of Design (Shanghai, China);
Mariam Mukhtarovna Yeziyeva – Associate Professor at Akdeniz University (Antalya, Türkiye), PhD, internationally awarded haute couture designer;
Katrin Goltsman – General Director of Goltsman Models;
Zhibek Batyrbekovna Zhetpisbayeva – Deputy Akim of Almaty;
Aziz Oralbekuly Kazhdenbek – Head of the Almaty City Youth Policy Department.

Pret-a-Porter, 1st Place – Collection "Return to the Origins" – Nabira Turganbek, Almaty Technological University;
Creative Art, 1st Place – Project "TUNBA" – Nazerke Nurlankyzy and Yelana Koksebek, O. Tansykbayev Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts;
De Luxe, 1st Place – Collection "Eastern Wind" – Mukhtasar Valijon Kizi Odiljonova, Namangan State Technical University (Uzbekistan);
Ethno Fusion, 1st Place – Collection "Rukhani Sani" – Almira Karimova, Almaty Regional College of Innovative Technologies in Service and Catering;
Art Design, 1st Place – Artwork "Rukhty Aru" – Zhadyra Yerkul, Almaty Technological University.
