ATU Hosted a Guest Lecture on the Prevention of Religious Extremism and Terrorism


A guest lecture from Zhanna Kantarbayeva, a member of the Center for the Study of Religious Issues in Almaty, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, on the topic "Prevention of religious extremism and terrorism" was held for students of the Faculty of Information Technology of ATU.
During the lecture, the audience was provided with information about the signs of destructive religious movements, methods of spreading extremist ideas, as well as the relationship between national and religious values. The expert stressed the importance of raising the general level of culture and education of the population, developing legal awareness, as well as strengthening traditions of tolerance in the family and society in order to ensure interfaith peace and harmony.
The event is organized by the Department of Computer Engineering.
