Almaty Technological University Improves Its Position in the QS World University Rankings 2027
Almaty Technological University (ATU) has strengthened its standing in one of the world's most prestigious higher education rankings, the QS World University Rankings 2027. According to the latest edition of the ranking, the university advanced from 1115th to 1049th place globally, improving its position by 66 places.

This significant progress also enabled ATU to improve its national standing. Among universities in Kazakhstan, ATU moved up from 10th to 9th place, further reinforcing its status as one of the country's leading higher education institutions.
Published annually by the international higher education analytics agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the QS World University Rankings is widely recognized as one of the most influential global benchmarks for assessing university performance. The 2027 edition features more than 1,500 universities from 106 countries and territories worldwide.
ATU's improved performance reflects the university's consistent efforts to enhance the quality of education, advance research activities, strengthen academic capacity, and expand international cooperation.
The university demonstrated particularly strong progress across several key ranking indicators. In the Faculty Student Ratio indicator, ATU advanced from 86th to 71st place globally, improving by 15 positions. This indicator reflects the level of academic resources available to students and the quality of interaction between faculty members and learners.
Significant growth was also recorded in the International Faculty indicator, where the university climbed 104 positions to reach 509th place worldwide. This achievement highlights ATU's growing attractiveness to international academics and the continued development of its global academic environment.
ATU also maintained strong performance in the International Students indicator, ranking 515th globally. Today, the university is among Kazakhstan's leading institutions in terms of internationalization, providing an inclusive learning environment for students from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds.
