AI Week in Kazakhstan: ATU Summed Up the Results of the Student Ideas Contest

To promote the development and popularization of science and technology in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as to integrate Kazakhstan into the global scientific and technological community, the country hosted AI Week. The initiative, organized at the request of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aims to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing achievements, and engaging students, faculty, and researchers in the active study and application of AI.

Our university actively supported this important initiative. As part of AI Week, the Department of Information Systems organized and held the student competition “AI-week: Student Ideas Contest.” The goal of the competition was to identify and support the best student projects focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence technologies.

Ten teams from different courses took part in the intellectual competition. All the projects demonstrated a high level of preparation, creativity, and deep interest in one of the most promising technologies of today.

Winners of the competition:

1st place: Alimov Kazibek Kurolboyovich – IS 22-11 PETS, and Tayleken Adil Askarovich – IS 22-11 PETS (prize fund — 50,000 KZT).

2nd place: Kelis Aibol Aidosovich – IS-23-11 TVE PETS (prize fund — 30,000 KZT).

2nd place: Kaldybek Nyshangul Nurgalievna – IS 22-12 POIS, and Kerimbekovna Munira – IS 22-12 PETS (prize fund — 30,000 KZT).

3rd place: Yerkinbek Batyr Dastanovich – IS-23-11 TVE PETS (prize fund — 20,000 KZT).

3rd place: Turgen Nurlybek Sabitovich – IS-23-11 TVE PETS (prize fund — 20,000 KZT).

We congratulate the winners and thank all participants for their bright ideas and high-quality projects! The organization of such events strengthens our university’s position as a center for training specialists for Kazakhstan’s digital economy and contributes to unlocking the scientific potential of youth in the field of high technology.
