The Department of food Safety and quality (BSPC) was organized as a structural unit of Almaty technological University in September 2004 on the basis of the certification body of food and agricultural products LLP «Alma-Test».

The department team has done a lot of work to open the specialty 5B073200 - Standardization, certification and metrology, which produces specialists for production, organizational, expert, management and research activities in the field of metrology, standardization and certification in engineering and scientific positions with the qualification of Bachelor of Engineering and Technology.
