The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of the most progressive at the University. We produce highly demanded, competitive, adaptable professionals who are able to generate the acquired knowledge and skills to work as accountants and specialists in financial institutions and the real sector of the economy.
The Department of Accounting and Finance was established at the Almaty University of Technology and Business in 1996-1997. and the first head was Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Sh.Z. Zamanbekov.
Subsequently, the heads of the department were PhD, Associate Professor P.B. Isakhova, PhD, Associate Professor M.N. Nadirov, PhD, Associate Professor B.M. Orazaliev, PhD A.R. Toktabaev, PhD, Professor A.D. Dauletbekov, PhD, Professor G.O. Zhangutina, Doctor of Economics, Professor B.D. Dauletbakov, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor L.E. Currently, the Department of Accounting and Finance is a structural unit of the Faculty of Economics and Business, since September 2022, the department has been headed by Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Ruzieva Elvira Abdulmitovna.
The teachers of the department are professionals in their field, including doctors and candidates of Economics, PhD and masters, many of whom have extensive practical experience working in Tax committees, as chief accountants, financial analysts, and investors in financial markets.
We have two virtual laboratories, a Young Entrepreneur's Club, where classes are conducted by existing practitioners who teach the preparation of business projects and their implementation. The department plans to organize the Bloomberg Laboratory and the Center for Exchange Technologies.
