Our projects

The «ATU Foot-Unity» project, implemented by the Department of Physical Education of the Almaty Technological University, is aimed at developing mass sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students and the external community. This initiative creates an open sports platform based on futsal, bringing together participants of various ages, skill levels, and educational backgrounds.

The goal of the project is to strengthen the health of youth and the general population, develop a sports culture, increase social integration, and form sustainable motivation for physical activity.

Project objectives include: developing teamwork and social cohesion; fostering discipline, responsibility, and leadership qualities; promoting a healthy lifestyle; and enhancing the university's sporting prestige through participation in competitions at various levels.

The implementation format includes a regular training process under the guidance of department faculty and coaches, internal tournaments (spartakiads), open competitions, friendly matches, and interuniversity tournaments. Special attention is paid to engaging an external audience, including students from other universities, schoolchildren, amateur teams, and city residents.

In 2026, more than 12 sports events were held with over 180 participants, including representatives from other universities and the external community. Within the framework of the project, interuniversity competitions were organized with teams from various regions, including Zhetysu University (Taldykorgan), as well as open tournaments for futsal amateurs.

Additionally, the project expands its social reach through open training sessions, master classes for schoolchildren, and free classes for beginners. Partnerships with universities, sports schools, and local authorities are being developed to ensure the sustainability and scalability of the initiative.

The long-term impact of the project lies in forming a sustainable culture of physical activity, reducing sedentary lifestyles, and integrating the university into the development of the city's sports ecosystem.

Thus, "ATU Foot-Unity" serves as an effective model for university interaction with the external community, contributing to the improvement of public health and the development of an inclusive sports environment.

The «ATU Team» program, initiated by the Department of Physical Education of the Almaty Technological University, serves as a vital link in the development of mass sports and the promotion of active longevity values. The project creates an open communication environment based on volleyball, bringing together students from various universities, youth associations, and representatives of the older generation, including sports veterans and active lifestyle enthusiasts.

The key priority of the initiative is to strengthen the physical fitness of participants of all ages, popularize volleyball culture as an accessible sport, and create conditions for effective intergenerational interaction and team cohesion.

The project's activities focus on fostering a culture of teamwork and self-discipline, as well as unlocking the leadership potential of each participant. By engaging broad segments of the population in regular training, the university fulfills its social mission, establishing itself as a significant center of public attraction.

The implementation mechanism includes a continuous cycle of training sessions under the supervision of department experts, the organization of open cups, a series of friendly matches, and interuniversity championships. Special emphasis is placed on involving external participants: school teams, amateur volleyball leagues, and city residents wishing to improve their level of play.

During 2026, more than 15 sports events were held, covering over 250 participants, including teams from partner educational institutions. As part of the project, the university teams participated in the ALMA CUP city youth league, matches of the Almaty Student Volleyball League (ASVL), and the annual interuniversity Spartakiad. Open tournaments in classic volleyball were also organized, bringing together professional sports veterans and amateur citizens.

Additionally, the program includes master classes on receiving and serving techniques for schoolchildren, as well as free introductory sessions for beginners. Cooperation with regional sports federations and city administrations ensures the sustainable development and social significance of the project.

The key outcome of the program is the creation of sustainable motivation for sports and the development of the university as an important link in the social infrastructure. Acting as a tool for strengthening public health, the «ATU Team» project successfully unites the academic community and citizens in the pursuit of active longevity and physical excellence.

The «ATU Basket-Point» initiative, established by the Department of Physical Education of the Almaty Technological University, serves as a key tool for developing mass sports and promoting an active lifestyle. The project creates an open communication platform based on basketball, bringing together students from various universities, youth organizations, and the urban community.

The goal of the project is to improve the nation's health, popularize basketball culture, and create conditions for effective social adaptation of youth through regular sports activities.

The main objectives include: strengthening teamwork skills and leadership potential; fostering responsibility and willpower; engaging citizens in systematic physical activity; and positioning ATU as a leading local sports center.

The implementation mechanism is based on conducting systematic training sessions under the supervision of department experts, organizing internal championships, open cups in basketball and streetball (3x3), as well as arranging friendly matches. Special emphasis is placed on inclusivity, allowing schoolchildren, amateur teams, and city residents to participate regardless of their skill level.

By the end of 2026, more than 10 large-scale events were organized within the framework of the initiative, with over 170 participants, including representatives from external educational institutions. A significant highlight was the participation in city competitions throughout the year across two seasons.

In addition to the competitive component, open master classes on shooting techniques and tactical basics are held for schoolchildren, along with introductory sessions for beginners. Established partnerships with local sports federations and school administrations ensure the long-term development and social significance of the project.

The social impact of the initiative is reflected in the creation of a sustainable habit for sports, the fight against a sedentary lifestyle, and the active integration of the university into the city's sporting life.

Consequently, the "ATU Basket-Point" project is an effective mechanism for integrating the university and society, contributing to the growth of public well-being and the creation of an accessible sports environment for everyone.
