Scientific activity

Research work is an integral part of the department's activities aimed at developing the textile industry and training highly qualified specialists.

Achievements in scientific activity

Teachers and young scientists of the department actively participate in foreign, international and national scientific conferences, which promotes the exchange of experience and the introduction of advanced technologies. Over the past 5 years, the department:

  • 8 innovative patents for inventions and industrial designs have been obtained.
  • 41 scientific articles have been published in foreign journals with a high impact factor.
  • Projects have been implemented within the framework of grant financing from the National Agency for Technological Development (NATD) and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Funded research projects

  1. Improvement of the traditional manual method and the previously tested technology of mechanized separation of goat down from various genotypes of goats of the republic
  2. Development of safe textile auxiliaries based on water-soluble polymers for antimicrobial finishing of textile materials (Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
  3. Creation of textile auxiliaries based on water-soluble polymers to impart new functional properties to textile materials.

Scientific and practical cooperation

The department maintains close cooperation with leading enterprises of the textile industry of Kazakhstan, including:

o Altex LLP (Almaty)

o AzalaTextile LLP (Shymkent)

o AKHBK-Kargaly LLP (Almaty)

o Altex Knitting Factory LLP (Almaty)

o Universal-Advertising LLP (Almaty)

o Tex LLP (Almaty)

o ZINNATI Sole Proprietor (Almaty)

o LANA JERSEY LLP (Almaty)

Such connections contribute to the organization of students' practice and the implementation of research results in production.

Material and technical base

The department has a modern material and technical base for conducting scientific research and the educational process. The department has 7 laboratories.:

  • Textile and sewing materials science.
  • Designing knitwear.
  • Chemical technology of textile materials.
  • Knitting production technologies.
  • Mechanical technology of textile materials.
  • Labor protection.
  • Research Laboratory of Textile Safety Technology.

The laboratories are equipped with modern equipment for determining the physical and mechanical properties and evaluating the quality of textile materials. Students gain practical skills by mastering knitting processes on the LIBRA 3.130 flat knitting machine with software.

Opportunities for students, undergraduates, and doctoral students

  • Educational laboratories: students study disciplines such as "Physico-chemical fundamentals of textile finishing processes" and "Textile Materials Science".
  • Research work: undergraduates and doctoral students conduct experiments in laboratories using advanced equipment.
  • Practical training at enterprises: students apply their knowledge at leading enterprises of the textile industry, which ensures a high level of training and competitiveness in the labor market.

The department strives to continuously develop the scientific base and integrate scientific achievements into the educational process, providing students with unique opportunities for professional growth and scientific research.
