Scientific activity

One of the main activities of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines is the research work of teaching staff. Teachers of the department have publications in both domestic and foreign scientific publications. They actively take part in international scientific and practical conferences, congresses, seminars and trainings both within the country and abroad, and take advanced training courses in various areas and industries. Scientific research by teachers contributes to a deeper understanding of academic disciplines, and joint work with students allows them to share knowledge and experience, significantly increasing the intellectual level and worldview of students.
In 2023, the department completed work on the scientific initiative topic “Ethnodemographic and urbanization processes in Kazakhstan (1970-2020), led by Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Historical Sciences G.A. Davletova. Within the framework of the initiative topic, 34 scientific publications were developed and published, a collective work was published on the discipline “History of Kazakhstan”, the research results were introduced into the department’s discipline programs, numerous round tables and seminars were held.
In particular: the syllabus for the discipline “History of Kazakhstan” includes the 14th topic for SRO: “Population census for the years of independence and its results (1999,2009,2021).” In the syllabus of the discipline “Module of Socio-Political Knowledge”, the following are studied: 1. Analysis of the relationship between urbanization and migration processes. 2. Identification of features of demographic development and their impact on society.
As a result of the introduction of this topic into educational and extracurricular processes, students develop an understanding of the trends and factors of demographic processes occurring in the Soviet Union and in modern Kazakhstan; The personal potential of students, their desire for socially responsible behavior in conditions of urbanization and internal migration, and the ability to develop an active civic and professional position are developed and updated.
The results of the research obtained are used in conducting lectures, practical, and educational classes with students, with the aim of familiarizing them with the demographic and urbanization policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, developing demographic literacy and instilling national and family values.
At the moment, under the guidance of Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department Shamshidenovna F.M. a new research topic is being developed: “Forced collectivization and its impact on the ethno-demographic development of Kazakhstan.”
Under the guidance of the department's teachers, the research work of undergraduates and students increases annually. Thus, in 2023, teachers of the department (Ismailova R.B., Tukenova K.T., Malikov B., Ashimova Z.I., Zhumabaeva K.) together with undergraduates published 56 articles.
