Adaptation training for international students
On November 14, 2025, an adaptation training for international students was held at the Almaty Technological University (ATU).The purpose of the event was to help students adapt to a new educational environment, form a trusting atmosphere in the group, as well as familiarize themselves with cultural and academic peculiarities in Kazakh and Russian. During the training, participants took part in group tasks aimed at getting to know each other, team building and developing communication skills. The participants showed activity and interest. The event contributed to the successful adaptation of students to the new academic staff.

Meeting with students with disabilities (HIA)
From November 26 to 27, 2025, a meeting with students with disabilities and special educational needs was held in two academic buildings. The event was attended by 27 people. The goal is to support successful adaptation, create a comfortable learning environment and provide psychological support to students with disabilities.The participants received consultations, recommendations and practical advice to facilitate the learning process and improve teamwork.

Training using a cybernometer for international students
The Psychological Support Service conducted a training with international students using the Cybernometer device. The event was aimed at diagnosing and reducing psychoemotional stress, developing self-regulation and adaptation skills.During the winter session, participants had the opportunity to safely express their feelings, reduce stress and anxiety, restore emotional balance and strengthen a sense of community.The training confirmed the importance of psychological support for students during the exam load.

On February 11, 2026, the Psychological Support Service held a discussion seminar for 1st year students and international students.Topic: "Law and order; culture of a responsible citizen, the demands of society, prevention of autodestructive behavior (suicide), synthetic drugs and tuberculosis." Special attention was paid to the problem of droppery, involving young people in illegal financial schemes through issuing bank cards and transferring funds to third parties. The legal consequences, methods of fraud, criminal liability and protection of personal data are considered. The seminar was attended by: a lawyer from the ISKER ISI project, a police captain in the fight against cybercrime, a psychiatrist, an addiction therapist, an actor and producer, and a general practitioner. The event was held in the format of an open dialogue. Students received practical information to improve legal literacy, form personal responsibility and safe behavior.

On March 04, 2026, a training course for international students from Turkmenistan was held in the second academic building. The goal is to promote adaptation, reduce anxiety, and create a comfortable learning environment.The participants got to know each other, discussed the specifics of the educational process and intercultural communication, and received practical recommendations. The training was conducted by the leading specialist of the Psychological Support Service, Isagalieva Akerke.

On March 13, 2026, a training on "Adaptation" was held for international students of the BT 25-32 group. The purpose of the event was to help students from Turkmenistan adapt to a new educational and social environment. During the training, the participants got to know each other, took part in psychological exercises and discussed issues of communication and support at the university. The training was conducted by the psychologist of the Psychological Support Service, Isagalieva Akerke Zhanbyrbaykyzy.

Guest lecture for international students
On March 20, 2026, in the large assembly hall of the GUK, the Psychological Support Service, together with the Department of Youth Affairs, held a lecture for students from Turkmenistan on the topic "Improving financial literacy and preventing cybercrime (dropper)." The students got acquainted with the main risks of online fraud, ways to protect personal data and finances, as well as the legal consequences of illegal behavior. The lecture contributed to the formation of safe and conscious behavior skills in the digital environment.

Training work with 1st year students
From September 2025 to May 2026, the Psychological Support Service conducted trainings on student adaptation in two buildings. During the classes, students received psychological help and recommendations on stress tolerance, anxiety management, improved communication, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Conducting art therapy for the adaptation of 1st year students
In September 2025, art therapy was conducted with students of the 1st year of the university in order to promote their psychological adaptation, reduce stress and develop emotional stability. 63 students took part in the event. In the course of the work, creative methods were used aimed at self-expression and improving the emotional state of the participants. As a result, there is a decrease in emotional stress, an improvement in the psychological climate and an increase in student activity.

Antistress Week
As part of the "Antistress Week" at ATU, an event was held aimed at reducing stress levels, supporting mental health and adapting students.During the event, the participants were able to express their emotions, relieve tension and restore inner balance. Various practices were used to promote emotional relaxation, self-expression, and successful adaptation to the learning environment. The event was attended by 30 students. The participants showed activity and interest.

Psychological adaptation of students' personality (online)
From September 04 to September 09, 2025, an event on the topic "Psychological adaptation of students' personality" was held on the Zoom platform. The purpose of the event was to promote the successful adaptation of students to the educational process, reduce stress levels and develop psychological stability. During the online meeting, the participants were presented with recommendations and practices aimed at improving their emotional state, developing self-regulation skills and effective interaction in the learning environment. The event was attended by 3,592 students. The participants showed activity and interest. As a result, there is an improvement in the emotional state and an increase in the level of adaptation of students.

Preventive work
From September 16 to 19, 2025, a Week of preventive work on the adaptation of first-year students was held at Almaty Technological University. Within the framework of the program, together with the Rahym project, a seminar-lecture was held covering the prevention of offenses, fraud, addictions, as well as the formation of a healthy lifestyle and financial literacy. The event was attended by 3,500 students. The participants showed interest and activity. As a result, there is an increase in students' awareness and the formation of safe behavior skills.

On November 28, 2025, a seminar-lecture was held in honor of World AIDS Day on the topics of auto-destructive behavior and reproductive health, broadcast on Zoom and on YouTube.From April 01 to 03, 2026, seminars were held: "Easy money (dropper)", "Reproductive health protection", "Stress prevention" and "Healthy lifestyle".The events helped to raise students' awareness and develop skills for a safe and healthy lifestyle.

The trainings were conducted according to the plan and the students actively participated in the training, expressing their thoughts. At the end of the training, the participants expressed their suggestions and requirements. After the training, many noted a decrease in stress levels and an increase in self-confidence, and the participants were satisfied.

Working with students is a risk group
Since October 2025, training has been conducted in all faculties with students at risk on the topic "Reducing aggression and anxiety, the ability to recognize and express their emotions." The purpose of the training is how to interact with each other correctly, in order to change the behavior of the other in the desired direction. As it became known during the training, one of the reasons for classifying students as at risk was concern about anxiety in a stressful situation, self-doubt and a small amount of communication affected the psychological state of students. Relaxing meetings "Calm Environment"
During the academic period, weekly meetings were held for students on Wednesdays from 16:30 to 17:00 within the framework of the Calm Environment project. The purpose of the events was to provide psychological relief, restore internal resources and develop self-regulation skills. During the meetings, the participants practiced techniques of gentle relaxation, energy recovery, and internal balance adjustment. Regular classes helped to reduce stress levels and improve the overall emotional state of students.

The Psychological Tuesday Project
From September to April of the 2025-2026 academic year, webinars were held weekly on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. on the Zoom platform as part of the Psychological Tuesday project. During the meetings, the topics of psychological well-being and its assessment, anxiety and stress management, building healthy relationships and personal boundaries, as well as the development of emotional intelligence and self-regulation were discussed. Additionally, an online workshop was held on the topic of emotional burnout among students and teachers. The events contributed to improving the psychological literacy of the participants, developing self-regulation skills and strengthening emotional well-being.

The Antistress Week Project
As part of the Antistress Week project, the Psychological Support Center held weekly training sessions for students on Fridays. The purpose of the events was to strengthen the internal resource, reduce stress levels and support the mental health of students. During the meetings, art therapy practices, game exercises and other activities aimed at emotional relief and restoring inner balance were conducted. The project was implemented at ATU JSC with the support of the Crisis Center of the Psychological Support Service and contributed to improving the psychological well-being of students.

Psycho Express ATU — dedicated to the Day of the Psychologist
On December 18-19, 2025, ATU JSC hosted the "Psycho Express ATU" events dedicated to the Day of the Psychologist. The students were provided with psychological support: diagnostics with a cybernometer, group art therapy and individual consultations with MAC cards. The activities helped to reduce stress, express emotions and increase awareness. The active participation of the students created an atmosphere of support and concern for psychological well-being.

Preventive seminars "Law and Order" and legal literacy of students From February 11 to February 27, 2026, the Psychological Support Service of ATU JSC, together with the Department of Youth Affairs, Medical and Social partners (KazMed, Rahym, zdravpunkt), conducted a series of seminars and preventive meetings for 1st-5th year students and international students. On October 17, 2025, JSC ATU hosted a preventive event for students, including international students. The purpose of the event was to support successful adaptation, prevent autodestructive behavior and develop safe behavior skills in the student environment. Within the framework of the event, a seminar-lecture was held on the following topics: bullying and harassment, prevention of infectious diseases, as well as the harm of bad habits. The prevention of infectious diseases and the harm of bad habits were also discussed. The event was held in an interactive form with an online broadcast on the ATU YouTube channel. It was attended by 500 students who showed activity and interest.

Preventive work and meetings with students of dormitories
From September 23 to September 26, 2025, a week of preventive work was held at Almaty Technological University, aimed at adapting students living in dormitories No.1-5. During the meetings, issues related to the prevention of offenses, drug addiction, alcohol consumption and autodestructive behavior, as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and public order were discussed.
From February 02 to 05, 2026, additional meetings with students with the participation of specialists were organized in the ATU dormitories. During the events, the rights and obligations of students, rules of accommodation, issues of psychological support and health, as well as countering bullying, droppery and harassment were discussed.
The activities carried out contributed to the successful adaptation of students, the formation of a safe and comfortable educational environment.


Training work with students living in a dormitory
From October to April of the 2025-2026 academic year, psychological trainings with students were conducted in dormitories No.1-5 of ATU JSC. 161 students took part in the events.During the trainings, the participants received psychological support and recommendations on stress tolerance, anxiety management, development of communication skills and effective interaction. Special attention was paid to the issues of self-regulation, concentration of attention and restoration of internal resources during the study load.The trainings were conducted according to the approved plan. The students actively participated in the discussions, completed practical tasks and shared their personal experiences. As a result of the events, there is a decrease in the level of emotional tension, an increase in self-confidence and an improvement in the psychological state of the participants. The students expressed interest in further holding such meetings.



Adaptation Work of the Psychological Support Service with First-Year Students in the 2024–2025 Academic Year
Training Activities with First-Year Students
From September 2024 to May 2025, the Psychological Support Service conducted adaptation training sessions for first-year students across two academic buildings. During these sessions, students received psychological support and practical guidance on stress resilience, anxiety management, communication skills improvement, and the development of self-esteem and self-confidence.

Training Activities with Group Leaders
In September, a training session was conducted for first-year academic group leaders (class representatives). The aim was to develop leadership and communication skills. The sessions were organized according to a schedule for each faculty. A total of 98 group leaders participated.

On September 19, 2024, the Psychological Support Service conducted an adaptation training session titled “Introduction,” aimed at improving interpersonal relationships and fostering a positive psychological climate within the group.

Preventive Work
On November 14, 2024, as part of the educational campaign “One Evening at the Museum,” organized by the Central Museum team in celebration of Student Day, the Psychological Support Service arranged a guided tour for first-year students and students with disabilities. The event aimed to support students’ social and cultural adaptation, broaden their horizons, and foster a comfortable and inclusive educational environment.

On November 22, 2024, and February 4–5, 2025, with the participation of medical professionals, meetings were held for first-year students on the following topics: “Prevention of Self-Destructive Behavior and Reproductive Health Issues (AIDS — Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, HIV — Human Immunodeficiency Virus, drug abuse, early pregnancy, etc.)” and “Measures for the Prevention and Control of AIDS.”

On February 19, 2025, the Psychological Support Service conducted a training using metaphorical association maps (MAC) with international students. The training was aimed at reducing emotional stress, developing self-knowledge and facilitating the process of psychological adaptation.

On February 20, 2025, the Psychological Support Service conducted a training using the Cybernometer device with international students. The training was aimed at diagnosing and reducing the level of psychoemotional stress, as well as developing self-regulation and adaptation skills.

On April 17, 2025, the Psychological Support Service held an online lecture on the topic: "The problem of harassment in the student environment." The event was aimed at raising students' awareness of harassment issues, developing safe behavior skills, and creating a respectful and safe educational environment.

Working with students is a risk group
Since October 2024, trainings were conducted for at-risk students across four faculties on the topic: “Reducing Aggression and Anxiety, and Learning to Recognize and Express Emotions.” The goal of the training was to teach students how to interact effectively with others, influence behavior in a positive direction, and build relationships free from aggression and conflicts. A total of 187 groups participated in the trainings. The sessions aimed to identify symptoms of self-destructive behavior. It was found that factors contributing to students being classified as at-risk included anxiety in stressful situations, low self-confidence, and limited social interaction, all of which affected their psychological state. During the trainings, students received psychological support and practical recommendations on stress management, anxiety regulation, improved communication, self-esteem, and confidence. The sessions were conducted according to plan, and students actively shared their perspectives. Many participants reported reduced tension and increased self-confidence after the trainings, leaving the sessions satisfied and motivated.

Curator hours were held with 31 groups in collaboration with the Psychological Support Service. For the convenience of students, the trainings were organized in two ATU academic buildings. During the sessions, students received psychological support and practical recommendations on stress management, anxiety regulation, improving communication, self-esteem, and confidence. The trainings were conducted according to plan, and students actively participated, sharing their thoughts and opinions. At the end of each session, participants provided feedback, suggestions, and requests. Many students reported a reduction in tension and an increase in self-confidence, leaving the trainings satisfied and motivated.

On November 12, 2024, the Psychological Support Service, in collaboration with the social organization “Rahym”, conducted a lecture-seminar as part of the “Isker isi” and “Safe Environment” projects on the topic: “Counteracting Common Methods of Internet Fraud. Prevention of Gambling Addiction and Drug Abuse.” The event was organized in both online and offline formats for students of 1st–4th courses, international students, and students with disabilities (OVZ). The goal of the session was to increase students’ awareness, promote safe behavior in the digital environment, and prevent addictive behaviors.

On 22.11.2024 and 04.02–05.02.2025, with the participation of medical professionals, a meeting was held for 1st year students on the following topics: "Prevention of auto-destructive behavior and reproductive health issues (AIDS, HIV, drug addiction, early pregnancy, and others)" and "Measures to prevent and combat AIDS."

In December 2024 and April 2025, during the winter and summer examination sessions, the Psychological Support Service together with the Office of Legal Support and Anti-Corruption conducted a covert anti-corruption campaign "Clean Session" among students of 1-4 courses. The purpose of the event is to prevent corruption, form the principles of academic integrity and enhance the legal culture of students.

Training work with students living in a dormitory
From September to April of the 2024-2025 academic year, trainings with students were held in five dormitories. 267 students took part in them. During the trainings, students received psychological help and recommendations on stress tolerance, anxiety management, improved communication, self-esteem and self-confidence. The trainings were conducted according to the plan, the students actively participated, expressing their thoughts and sharing their experiences. At the end of the class, the participants offered their ideas and expressed their wishes for further work. After the trainings, many noted a decrease in stress levels and an increase in self-confidence, and the participants were satisfied with the event.

Psychological diagnostics is the study of individual characteristics of students (intelligence, emotions, communication skills) to identify the causes of difficulties in learning or behavior.
