Applications Open for the 2026 Nurlan Kapparov Educational Grant
The ATU Endowment Corporate Foundation announces the opening of applications for the annual Nurlan Kapparov Educational Grant Competition.
The purpose of the competition is to support talented, motivated, and socially active applicants enrolling in bachelor's degree programs at Almaty Technological University (ATU).
The winner(s) of the competition will receive an educational grant covering up to 100% of the tuition fee for the first academic year. The amount of the grant will be determined by the Expert Committee based on the competition results, the number of winners, and the Foundation's financial capacity.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants who:
• are applying for a fee-paying bachelor's degree program at Almaty Technological University;
• hold a valid Unified National Testing (UNT) certificate;
• have scored 50 points or higher and met the minimum required score for each UNT subject.
Competition Task
To participate, applicants must create an original video on the topic:
"ATU – My Path to My Future Profession"
Video requirements:
Duration: up to 3 minutes (180 seconds);
Publish the video on your public Instagram account;
Tag the official accounts: @atu_media @endowmentfund.atu
Use the following hashtags: #endowmentfundatu #grantatu
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated by the standing Expert Committee of the ATU Endowment Corporate Foundation.
Criterion Maximum Score
UNT score 40
Video presentation 40
Applicant motivation 20
Total 100
The video will be assessed based on its relevance to the topic, originality, creativity, quality of presentation, communication skills, and overall impact.
The motivation component will consider the applicant's conscious choice of university, commitment to studying at ATU, willingness to participate in university life, and aspiration for professional development.
In the event of a tie, preference will be given to the applicant with the higher UNT score.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents by August 25, 2026 to endowment@atu.edu.kz:
• Copy of ID card;
• Secondary school certificate or college diploma;
• UNT certificate;
• Proof of application to a fee-paying bachelor's program at ATU;
• Link to the published Instagram video.
Applicants are also encouraged to submit copies of diplomas, certificates, awards, and other documents confirming their achievements.
Important Dates:
Application deadline: August 25, 2026
Competition results: by August 30, 2026
After Receiving the Grant
Grant recipients are expected to participate in Endowment ATU volunteer projects for at least 80 hours during their first academic year.
