Since the beginning of its formation, Almaty Technological University has been training specialists in various fields in the field of business, management, administration, and light industry. ATU occupies a leading position in Central Asia and is included in the list of the 5 best technical universities in Kazakhstan. Students are offered universal programs in specialized areas and a modern education system, which includes bachelor's, master's, doctoral, double-degree education and a distance learning program.

Bachelor's degree provides an opportunity to obtain a specialty in the field of biotechnology, automation, software, design, management, information systems, management, catering and hotel business; to master professions related to light industry, tourism, finance, ecology, economics and others. The Technological University of Almaty provides 33 bachelor's degree programs.
The Master's degree program offers 32 programs in such areas as biological and related sciences, information and communication technologies, engineering, business and management, service sector, manufacturing and processing industries, standardization, certification and metrology.
The doctoral program is an in-depth study of disciplines, postgraduate education in economics, management, biotechnology and other disciplines.

The learning process is organized with the provision of qualified teaching staff. It includes: academicians, corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as doctors of PhD and Doctors of Sciences, candidates of Sciences and masters. The University invites leading specialists and scientists from other countries. ATU teachers also undergo internships abroad.
International students who apply for a bachelor's degree can be interviewed online. For admission, it is necessary to contact the Department of International Relations and Academic Mobility to clarify migration issues. The list of required documents is posted on the University's official website. For admission, you must pass 2 subjects and score at least 50 points on the UNT. Applicants are offered the following subjects, depending on their chosen specialty: mathematics, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, and a foreign language.
The University cooperates with 95 major educational institutions in other countries. At the university, you can study and get a profession at one of the 4 faculties, there are 19 departments. There are also scholarship and double-degree programs at ATU jointly with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Shanhai Jian Qiao University and the Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland.
