The range of scientific interests of the department includes issues of studying the state of anisotropic media with cavities, solving actual applied problems of solid and deformable solid mechanics, spectral properties of differential equations with deviating arguments, nonlinear boundary value problems for partial differential equations, solving nonlinear hyperbolic differential equations, composite materials with carbon nanostructure, improving the training of future specialists in technological machines and equipment on the example of teaching physics, teaching methods of higher mathematics in a technical university, etc.
Currently, the department is implementing an initiative research work on the topic “Improving the methodological training of physics teachers at higher technical educational institutions” under the guidance of Professor Musabekov O.U., performers Karybaeva G.A., Shinikulova G.N., Aldibekova A.N.
In recent years, teachers of the department have published scientific articles in foreign publications with a non-zero impact factor, cited in the Scopus databases (Ph.D. Kultasov A.A., Ph.D., Professor Baimukhametov A.A.), as well as articles in scientific publications of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries:
