The department was established in 2007 to implement the educational programme ‘Tourism’. In 2009, for the first time in Kazakhstan, the enrolment for the educational programme ‘Restaurant business and hotel business’ was carried out.
Since 2010 on the postgraduate educational programme there is a master's degree on specialties 7M11101 - Tourism, 7M11102 - Restaurant business and hotel business and PhD on specialty 8D11102 - Restaurant and Hotel Business.
