The main goal of our department is to create a system that promotes the successful employment of students and the entry of graduates into the labor market.
Thus, 2nd-4th year students undergo practical training at enterprises in Almaty and the cities of Kazakhstan, and also go to universities in neighboring countries. Fruitful cooperation in this direction has been established with the Kyrgyz State Technical University. I. Razzakova (Bishkek) and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry. Having acquired the necessary practical skills to work at existing enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan and beyond, graduates of the department have broad employment prospects.
The Department of Technology, Product and Goods Design has established close partnerships with successfully developing light industry enterprises, such as:
An important element of supporting the employment of students and graduates of the department is the “Career Center” at ATU, which ensures effective interaction between the labor market and the educational services of the university. The “Career Center” provides information about vacancies on the labor market, posting them on the official website of the ATU, which provides significant assistance in the employment of graduates.
Our graduates work at leading light industry enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, those of them who are aimed at teaching and scientific activities complete their master's and doctoral studies at ATU and continue their educational activities in their home department as teachers.
The results of the analysis of data on the employment of graduates over the past 5 years indicate a high demand for graduates in the specialty “Technology and design of light industry products” in the labor market. About 80% of graduates are employed annually in sewing enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
