History

The Faculty of Distance Learning has a long history:

1957, May 10th. In accordance with the order of the Minister of the Food Products Industry of the SSR and the Minister of Higher Education of the SSR No. 165/548 dated May 10, 1957, the Alma-Ata branch of the Institute for Advanced Training of Managers and Engineering and Technical Workers of the MPPTSSR was reorganized into the Alma-Ata branch of the All-Union Correspondence Institute of the Food Industry (AF VZIPP ).

1973, August 31. With the formation of the Alma-Ata branch of the Dzhambul Technological Institute of Light and Food Industry, by order No. 140 of August 31, 1973, a department of correspondence education was organized.

2005-2006. Part-time students are trained in credit education technology.

2006, June 10. In accordance with Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 341. “On conducting an experiment in basic universities to implement experimental programs” Almaty Technological University has been training students using distance technology since the 2006-2007 academic year.

2007, July 06. In 2007, the Almaty Technological University and the Almaty University of Technology and Business merged; on the basis of the correspondence faculties of these universities, by order No. 03-02-48, the Institute of Correspondence and Distance Learning (IZDL) was created, with a student population of about 4,000 people.

2010, October 15. By Order No. 03-03-714, the Institute of Correspondence and Distance Learning, in connection with the cessation of training of specialists in correspondence courses and the transition to distance learning technology, was transformed into the Faculty of Distance Learning.

Today we remember with gratitude the names of the faculty leaders who at one time worked for the benefit and prosperity of the faculty.

1973-1986. At AFDTILIP the first dean of the correspondence faculty was Kudaibergenov Zhanuzak Dilmukhamedovich. The first dean of the faculty of distance learning, made a great contribution to the founding of the faculty and the development of the organization of distance learning at the university.

1986-1993. Murugov Alexander Ermolaevich  was the dean of the faculty of correspondence education. He continued the development of the correspondence education system at ATU, participated in the opening of new distance learning specialties at the university in the areas of light industry.

1994-1995. The dean of the correspondence faculty was Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Kurmanaliev Musirepbek Kurmanalievich.

2001-2003. Dean of the correspondence faculty – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Ural Tutkabaevich Abdrakhimov.

2003-2005. The dean of the correspondence faculty was Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Kurmanaliev Musirepbek Kurmanalievich.

2005-2007. Dean of the Faculty of Distance Learning – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Evgeniy Borisovich Medvedkov. Transition to a credit education system and the beginning of distance learning using case technology. Beginning of EEA (external assessment of educational achievements) for distance learning students.

2007 The director was Omirserikov Murat Shukeyevich. Active development of e-learning. Implementation of automated control system "Prometheus" and "Dean's Office".

2008-2009. Evgeniy Borisovich Medvedkov is the director of the Institute of Correspondence and Distance Learning. Organization of distance learning using automated automated learning system "Tamos", introduction of a test form for passing exams.

2009-2010. Director of the Institute of Correspondence and Distance Learning - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Murzabekov Zeynelhriet Nugmanovich.

2010 Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Kuzembaev Kanash Kuzembaevich Director of the Institute of Correspondence and Distance Learning.

2010-2012. first dean of Evgeniy Borisovich Medvedkov of the Faculty of Distance Learning. Completion of the transition of part-time students to distance learning. Implementation of automated learning management system “e-learning”, providing better teacher-student interaction. Creation of a studio for recording video lectures, introduction of on-line classes into the educational process.

2013-2014. Kuzembaev Kanash Kuzembaevich is the Dean of the Faculty of Distance Learning.

2015-2020. Evgeniy Borisovich Medvedkov is the Dean of the Faculty of Distance Learning.
