Distance education allows students to successfully combine work in their chosen specialty with study, independently earning money for this, which makes them financially independent. Payment for tuition is made on the basis of concluded bilateral (university - student) or tripartite (university - student - enterprise) agreements. The amount of payment is established by order of the rector annually, as a rule, for the entire period of study.
Admission is based on the results of the interview.
Training is conducted in Kazakh and Russian languages in technical and economic specialties for the food, processing and light industries, the service sector, service, management, and information technology.

After enrollment, an organizational meeting will be held at the university. The preliminary date for its holding is September 13-14 at 09.00 at the address: Almaty, st. Furkata (below Tole bi street), 348/4, a. 220B (announcement of possible changes will be posted on the ATU website).
At the meeting, students will be given a login and password to enter the educational portal, and will be trained to work with the Univer IPK used at the university. There is also a lot of necessary and useful information provided. Here you will meet the dean's office staff and can ask any questions you may have.
For those who cannot attend the meeting and for everyone interested, the meeting materials will be sent by e-mail.
In addition, instructions for working with the Univer IPK, a guide and a student memo can be seen in your personal account on the university’s educational portal.
Mostly learning occurs independently. The schedule of educational and control activities, lectures, guidelines for performing practical classes and control tasks are part of the educational and methodological complex of the discipline, which is located in your personal account on the educational portal. According to the schedule, you must strive to complete all the necessary tasks. During the semester (15 weeks), it is necessary to pass 2 milestone tests (8 and 15 weeks), submitting individual assignments to the teacher (by sending them to his personal account in the IPC “Univer” or by e-mail) and take testing online in the IPC “ Univer." For all types of tasks you must score at least 50% points. After this, the student takes an exam, usually in the form of testing. The overall grade for the subject is the sum of these tests. In their final years, students undergo practical training if they work outside their specialty and pass a state exam.

Преподаватели взаимодействуют с обучающимися с помощью интернета, используя современные ресурсы: e-mail, видеоматериалы, личный кабинет на портале, вебинары, видеоконференции, онлайн-лекции и другое. Образовательный процесс проходит самостоятельно. Лекции, методические рекомендации, график мероприятий, схема сдачи практических работ находится в личном кабинете студента. Зачисление на дистанционную форму обучения производится после прохождения собеседования. Затем студентам выдается логин и пароль для входа в учебный портал.
