Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Production Technology

The Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Production Technologies (CPPT) was established in 2026 based on the Department of Chemistry, Chemical Technology and Ecology and is currently one of the leading departments of the Almaty Technological University. Its formation is connected both with the history of the university's development since 1957, and with a significant contribution to the educational process and scientific research.

Over the years, the department was led by outstanding scientists and honored figures of education and science:

• Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Almabekov O.A.
• Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Taussarova B.R.

Currently, Head of the department is Suleimenova M.Sh. Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor.

The CPPT Department trains highly qualified specialists in the following educational programs:

• «Environmental Protection Technology»

All educational programs of the department have a high level of resource provision, which makes it possible to form a sustainably functioning educational and scientific platform that meets international standards. The programs are focused on the needs of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the development of scientific research and increasing the competitiveness of graduates in the national and international labor markets.

Accreditation and recognition

The educational programs of the department are included in the Republican Register of educational programs of universities of Kazakhstan, have a state license and are accredited by leading national accreditation agencies.:

• Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IAQAE)
• National Agency for Accreditation and Rating (NAAR)

In the ratings of IAQAE, NAAR and NPP Atameken, bachelor's, masters and doctoral programs in the field of «Chemical Technology of Organic Substances» occupy leading positions among universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
