Food biotechnology is a branch of biotechnology that develops the theory and practice of creating food products for general, therapeutic and preventive purposes and special orientation.

Currently, the Department of Food Biotechnology provides training in the 3-level Bachelor-Master-PhD system in the specialty «Biotechnology». All three levels of the educational program have been accredited by the International Independent Agency NCAOKO. Over the past 3 years, in the General Rating of educational programs, the specialty «Biotechnology» has been ranked 4th in bachelor's degree, 2nd in master's degree, and 1st in doctoral studies in the republic.
