Teachers and young scientists of the department actively participate in foreign, international and national scientific conferences. Over the past 5 years, 8 innovative patents for inventions and industrial designs have been received, 41 articles have been published in foreign journals with a high impact factor. Scientists of the department participated in competitions for grant funding from NATR and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Funded scientific projects:

  • Development of safe textile auxiliary substances based on water-soluble polymers for antimicrobial finishing of textile materials, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan
  • Creation of textile auxiliary substances based on water-soluble polymers to impart new functional properties to textile materials, NATP

Scientific and practical cooperation

The department maintains close scientific and practical cooperation in organizing student internships and attracting highly qualified production specialists into the educational process with such enterprises as the knitting factory ALTEX LLP, TK Textiline, a branch of AKhBK-Kargaly LLP, a chemical reading and dyeing factory in Almaty . Shymkent Melange JSC, SouthTextiline LLP, Taraz POSH Taraz Factory LLP.

To organize the educational process and scientific research, the department has the necessary material and technical base. The department has 7 laboratories: textile and clothing materials science; design of knitted products; chemical technology of textile materials; knitting production technologies; mechanical technology of textile materials; labor protection, research laboratory of textile materials safety technology.

Students work in the educational laboratory in the disciplines “Physical and chemical foundations of finishing processes of textile materials”, “Textile materials science”.

Master's and doctoral students work in a research laboratory for scientific research. The laboratory is equipped with instruments and equipment for determining the physical and mechanical properties and assessing the quality of textile materials.

Students learn the knitting process on a LIBRA 3.130 flat knitting machine with software.
