The Department of food Safety and quality (BSPC) was organized as a structural unit of Almaty technological University in September 2004 on the basis of the certification body of food and agricultural products LLP “Alma-Test”.

The staff of the Department has done a lot of work on the opening of specialty 5B073200-Standardization, certification and Metrology, producing specialists for industrial, organizational, expert, managerial and research activities in the field of Metrology, standardization and certification in engineering and scientific positions with the qualification of bachelor of engineering and technology.

The Department has done a lot of work to optimize the range of specialties in connection with the transition to a new educational credit system.
