The “Accounting and Finance” Department was established in Almaty University of Technology and Business in 1996-1997. and the first head was CES., associate professor Sh.Z. Zamanbekov. Subsequently, the the department was chaired by CES., associate professor P.B. Isakhova, CAS., associate professor M.N. Nadirov, CES., associate professor B.M. Orazaliyev, CES. A.R. Toktabaev, CES., Professor A.D. Dauletbekov, CES, Professor G.O. Zhangutina, Doctor of Economics, Professor B.D. Dauletbakov, CES., Associate Professor L.E. Masanova, CES, Associate Professor L.S. Sultangaliev, Urzada S. Yessaidar. Currently, the of “Accounting and Finance” Department is a structural unit of the faculty of “Economics and Business”, since September 2021, the department is headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences Asanova Altynai Borisovna.
The mission of the “Accounting and Finance” Department is to train highly qualified specialists who have competitive advantages for working in financial institutions and bodies, as well as in the real sector of the economy of the republic.
The Department of Accounting and Finance ATU specializes in the preparation of highly qualified accountants and financiers of the Republic of Kazakhstan for food and light industry enterprises, as well as specialists for the financial and credit system, tax authorities and the treasury of the Republic of Kazakhstan, businesses of various forms of ownership and management. At the beginning of the 2021–2022 academic year, the amount of students for the educational program “Accounting and Auditing” is 449 people, including 209 full-time students, and 240 students for distance learning.
